The Legend of Mulan is based on the Song Dynasty (AD 960 -1279) poem, Mulan Ci. This version of the classic Chinese folktale was the first English language picture book version published in the United States. It was used as background source material for Disney's animated movie Mulan. This is the bilingual English/ simplified Chinese version of the legend.
